[Blackpool] Not my finest move

Thanks for a great meeting today. Loading the car for the trip home I rested the arduino and led cube on the roof of my car whilst I packed my camera gear, you can guess the rest of the story.

Please post a vid of my led cube working on the blog as it's all I have to remember it by! :(

I'll have to make an RGB one now...

Hi Arthur -
We did use the mailing list to say what we would be doing at each meeting, and some people still do.It is a good idea, and gives everyone an idea of what to expect. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi,

Thanks Mike, Jack and I will see you tomorrow.

I have some robot choreography software I've started writing. It just it renders the head and the feet in 3D in separate front/side and isometric views at the moment. The idea is you visually animate the robot in the software and from that generate data of positions and timings of the servos that can be used in the Robots code. Lots of people already have done this but it seems it's normally done with 'frames' whereas I want to do it with a proper timeline aligned to the 20ms servo pulses.

I have a hacked B&M Bargains spooky doll for Jack to program, I've made it float on a metal rod above the table. It has lights, noise, two servos for the arms and two sharp rangefinders to detect kids trying to take sweets from a bowl infront of it. . All hooked up to Arduino and controlled by Scratch for Arduino. Its for the Halloween coderdojo.

I need to blog these things so I'll bring some fancy kit to do a video and do the blogging there.

btw I think it's good to take 5mins to write out what you've done, what you plan to do and any dreams of stuff you'd like to do in these emails. It doesn't need to be as wordy as mine (and probably better not going on as much as me!). Just write a sentence or whatever you are comfortable with and then people can choose to join in or bring something they have that's related. I am always up for help, helping and collaborating.

Regards

Arthur
