[Blackpool] My Opinion

Hi Mike
I will be there at 10 on Saturday, and can work through until 5ish like
last week.
I can not attend on Sunday.

Thank you for suggesting me for a committee position. I would like to
propose Tony, as he is the longest standing member of the original group.

I think you will find that as you are the owner of the building, people
will look to you for guidance on what can and can not be done, because
ultimately, you are in control.
Therefore, you will need to be on the committee, although, at the moment, I
think we might be talking about a steering group until a committee is
elected in line with whatever the chosen constitution dictates.

There is a wealth of information and guidance available on how to start a
maker/hackerspace, and there will be no end of things to consider as we
forge the new group.

Probably the 2 most pressing matters in the short term are to formalise the
group in order to get a bank account if we want to be able to accept the
money from the crafts council.
And making sure that the space is ready in October so that we can meet our
commitment if we accept the money.
Les has been involved with the organisation of multiple events, and I am
sure his input will be invaluable regarding the event organisation.
Arthur's background will also be a big help.

To quote Arthur, "exciting times" are ahead.

Mike
