[Blackpool] Graphics card

Hi All
     Hoping someone can help a friend from Garstang.Have converted him 
to Ubuntu but when he tries to uprade from 12.04 to 14.04 it says 
graphics may not be good enough (tried a clean "try" of 14.04 & did not 
like).
     He says he has a nvidia geforce fx 5700le fitted, does anybody 
have a spare better one lying unloved in a garret somewhere he can 
have.
