A small window with underscores opens for password entry but there is no cursor action to put a password in.
Useful for parts if nothing else was my thought if anyone wants it?

When you're asked to enter the BIOS password, does it also display a key?
If so, you could try entering it here - https://bios-pw.org/ - to see if there's a corresponding master password that might unlock it for you. Might be worth a punt as a quick, final attempt to get it working.

Gifted to me this week with BIOS failure.
I put in a cheapy new battery (eBay) and it worked.
I stupidly used a 12 hour setting instead of 24 hr - went back into BIOS to remedy - it now wants a password and the beast won't let me in again.
As it won't take Linux Mint Xia, 22.1 my interest is no more.
Free to anyone who can make use of it.
