Hi guys, I'm giving the talk on Wednesday at the LUG, on an
'Introduction to Python'.
I'll be showing some code, if anyone wants to follow the demonstration,
on their own PC and are using Ubuntu or Debian, you will already have
Python on your PC, but you will also need the following package
installing: 'python-tk' which is available by the normal synaptic or
apt-get procedure.
This is a library of the tk graphics framework ported to Python, and
some of the demo's need it.
I'm not sure about other distributions - any modern distro will almost
certainly have Python already installed, but you can check with the
command 'python --version'.
You will need to load the python-tk library, it may already be installed
as default, or may be an extra, as it is with debian. The package may
also be called 'python-tkinter', or just 'tkinter'.
Cheers
Bernie
