What now follows is an invitation from Bradford City Supporters Trust to
take part in an upcoming Community Funday at Valley Parade
---
Dear Colleague,
I am writing to invite your organisation to take part in the Bradford City
Community Funday at the Coral Windows Stadium, Valley Parade on Sunday May
22 2011.
This is an annual event – now in its fifth year – that brings 5000 people
into the stadium from the neighbourhoods surrounding Valley Parade and
throughout the District. There is a schools football tournament on the main
pitch, and a featured match with local teams, plus a full programme of
entertainment, community events and stalls in the concourse area and the
banqueting suites. The event runs from 10.00 am until 4.30 pm, and
refreshments are available throughout the day.
The event presents a unique opportunity for your group to advertise itself,
to provide information, to involve the public in your activities and, if you
wish, raise funds for yourself. This may enable you to extend your
relationship with a variety of groups within the community.
There is space in the banqueting suites for about 50 stalls, and we were
fully subscribed last year. If you would like to run a stall, please
download the booking form from
http://www.divabradford.org.uk/publicdocs/CommunityFundayStallsForm.rtf
Please return your completed form to Paula Helliwell at the Valley Parade
address given on the form. As you will see, all stalls are FREE, unless you
are using the event for your own fund-raising. In that case, we are asking
for a modest charge to help defray the costs of the event. Bookings will be
accepted first come/first served until the venue is full.
Alternatively (or in addition!), there are opportunities to take part in the
entertainments programme which means that this year for the first time we
are inviting communities who would like to put on a fashion show or some
form of entertainment. If you have a group of people who would like to get
involved then please contact Zaneeb Thackray on z22 at hotmail.co.uk to see
what we can do together for the Fun Day. It’s a great opportunity for anyone
who takes part.
If you have any other questions about the event, please don’t hesitate to
contact me on a.h.carling at bradford.ac.uk, or call 01274 706850.
With thanks and best wishes,
Alan Carling,
Chair, Bradford City Supporters' Trust, on behalf of the Bantams Community
Partnership.
