[Bradford] What Tech/Computing News/Views/Articles sites do you read/follow ?

Hi,

I find it absolutely impossible to keep up with blogs or news sites
making many/multiple posts a day. Instead I opt for a combined
approach of weekly newsletters, and hive-mind filtering.

Depending on your interests and the job you're in, I'd recommend the
following weekly email newsletters:

devops weekly
ruby weekly
javascript weekly
html5 weekly
nosql weekly
tech leadership news

then to supplement that, I follow the right people on Twitter, hang
out in IRC at least one evening a week, and have regular lunches and
dinners with other people in my industry. And I'll also occasionally
read hackurls.com when I find myself with some spare reading time.

I also wake up to BBC Radio 2 news and have breakfast until BBC 6
music news (currently), but only so as I don't look like a complete
idiot when scum masters start talking about who won X Factor this
week. Then when I get into work there might be an email waiting for
me about any industry-specific news I need to know.

This is not a fool proof system, but I generally know enough to get
by. Actually putting all of this incoming knowledge into practise
takes a lot more time, and so I tend to limit my non-tech,
non-industry news. I was once challenged "how would your life be
different if you didn't know the name of the current prime minister",
and I'd encourage people to ask themselves the same question (I think
it's David Cameron, I may be wrong).

Regards
Alice
