This rather reminds me of the XKCD episode where they get geoip databases
to recognise the ip address of the International Space Station - "Meet
local girls in low earth orbit tonight!"  http://xkcd.com/713/

On a more serious note, is this spam coming from people/bots who've worked
out how to sign up for the list or are we accepting mail from
non-subscribers?
