Fun and games installing libpng14:-
1 try to download the slackbuild scripts from github
2 copy&paste from github because there is no green download button
3 download the main archive from the .info file and get; not an archive but an 
auto-uncompressed file tree
4 try the ./configure and make files in said tree
5 check it works - it does not!
6 try the slackbuild scripts; slackbuld complains of no archive
7 re-compress the tree as a tar.gz
8 try the slackbuilds scripts again
9 this time it works - but why???

in short I have open office again!
