[Chester LUG] eeepc woes again

I can remove stuff, but I'm cautious about exactly what I can get away with removing. There are some progs that I cant uninstall using the Add / Remove software due to other progs needing them. I could use synaptic or rm to get rid, but I'm cautious about breaking anything.

Try removing stuff with Synaptic, and not the GUI to apt-get.

Ha HA!

Problem solved. Got seriously fed up waiting for replies from about a half dozen forums over help with this one, so I decided that maybe the problem with the eeePC and Hardy would be easier to fix.

Now eeePC has XP on the 2g ssd and Hardy on the 4g Class 6 SDHC.

Does anyone know a quick way to remove all the crap that gets bundled with Ubuntu that I don't need. Some suff can't be removed with Add-remove progs and I'm reluctant to do it with the package manager in case something I need gets removed by accident.

I'm looking to keep full functionality, but remove additional extras like ooo database and display software while keeping the spreadsheet and word processor.
