[Chester LUG] ASUS linux motherboards

So does a machine using it have 2 OSs - one to replace the bios and another of our choice? Or does it just have the one that comes hardwired in?

Can I take their motherboard, build a PC and run Ubuntu (or Fedora - trialing it on my spare PC!)? Or am I tied in to their OS?
