Greetings,
Can any of you guys and gals(?) suggest either an individual scanner
& printer to that will OK with Linux (Ubuntu Hardy) or an all-in-one
combination device with the same support? I don't want to just go out
and buy one for obvious reasons.
Cheers,
- MC

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to this talk after all
:-(
I have a meeting in the afternoon and I'm not sure that I'll be able to make
it up to Manchester in time. If I make it, see you there, otherwise let us
know how it goes!
Les

I use ubuntu hardy and an epson dx8400. Seems to work ok so far with
printing. not tried the scanner so far. Can't say if it does anything
fancy or not, but can print normal stuff like .doc files through OOo.
Hope that's a help.

I agree. We use an Epson DX6000 series at home. Haven't tried the scanner
part but the printing is fine. It uses a lot of ink but the carts are really
cheap at about #2.50 a cart.

Hi,
These are older models but still good.
Scanner
Epson 2450 have to use a firewire connection in PClinux os , usb in ubuntu
printers
epson r220, hp4500, old hp 4 and 2100
Older laserjets tend to be good, cheap, built like brick privvies and
obtainable from a printer recycler at Anderton near Northwich (or via
keiths printers on ebay)
hope this helps
tom
