*How? Why? DIY! Day is a open festival of DIY technology and art, presented
as a hands on friendly car boot sale. Artists, designers, entrepreneurs,
makers and hobbyists will show the public how to use technology in their own
way and on their terms.*


*Venue:* Old Rapid Paint shop on Renshaw Street, Liverpool
 Date: Sunday 22nd August

*How? WHY? DIY! Day presents - *

* a** family hands on day plus activities for the older child in all of us.*



Bring the family and get a hands on with *Drawbots*, *Drawdio*, *Wii Phonics
* and the fantastic *Nintendo DS Orchestra*. Come and build your own Drawbot
or make music with the excellent Drawdio system and create a tune on your
DS.

*For the older child*

Do you believe in ubiquitous computing? Then *working with Arduinos** *is
for you - find out how the world of computing is changing through the use of
this open-sourced prototyping platform used by creative technologists around
the world, we have practical examples of Arduinos

Come see our *Make and Mend your PC* section, where we will demonstrate how
to take PC's apart and put them back together and for the more adventurous
we have an *Ubuntu Install Area** *- where you can be guided through the
process of installing this Linus operating system on your machine.

Or for the Muso - get involved in some *music hacking*; take that electric
guitar or keyboard and see what you can do to make it screech and groan in
ways never envisaged by the designers - ear plugs are recommended. *Soldering
Irons will be in action!!*
