If you have 2 blades, you can only really fill 50% of your cluster if you want to keep HA restart available in case a blade fails. The cost per blade also get expensive if you go past an 8 GB DIMM size Anyhow, what I am really saying is that those virtual machines will cost an absolute fortune (relatively speaking) in cost per VM. However, as I said, it is an easy, wheel in, power on solution that will work for a lot of people. If your customer does get one Les, let me know. I would be very interested to see it in the flesh rather than second hand from the VMUG presentation. Unfortunately Steve's offices are still unavailable on a Thursday so we're going to look into possibly a different night or other venues. Some sad news for those of you who attend the meets we have at the Rake & Pikel. You'll remember the landlord who was always very jolly and referred to us as 'the computer guys'. Well he died suddenly a couple of weeks ago. It's very sad, he was always so welcoming to us - unlike some of the other pubs we could mention! I believe the funeral is the end of this week, so I wouldn't want our meet to clash with a wake. So for this Thursday I was going to suggest a virtual LUG meet as we successfully had a couple of months back. Les -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This month it's going to be a virtual meet via Google Hangouts, at least initially. Last time we tried a couple of alternatives that didn't work too well on lower powered systems. I'm happy to take suggestions on alternatives to test tonight as well. I'll send out an invite later and we'll start the meet at 8pm. See you later.
