From roger at rcgibson.plus.com Wed Mar 1 22:19:27 2017 From: roger at rcgibson.plus.com (Roger Gibson) Date: Wed, 01 Mar 2017 22:19:27 -0000 Subject: [Chester LUG] USB Bluetooth dongle working with Ubuntu 16.04 etc. Message-ID: <5c2d2f31-fdee-7c4f-af32-f4bd479b1de3@rcgibson.plus.com> Hi, Looking on-line I get very mixed messages about what USB Bluetooth Dongle might work with any Linux flavour. Mostly the messages are posted by disgruntled folk about dongles not working. Has anyone any advice about a dongle that does work? I've never needed Bluetooth before, but we now have a Fitbit, which speaks only Bluetooth. I would be most dischuffed if I had to resort to Windoze for this. Many thanks - Roger. I have an old Belkin Bluetooth dongle that works fine on Linux. Does the Fitbit need to run some Windows software? I've never tried Bluetooth with Wine. We don't have a talk scheduled, so we can meet in the back of the pub as it's always quite quiet there. I'll be there from 8pm, see you there.
