[Chester LUG] USB Bluetooth dongle working with Ubuntu 16.04 etc.

Hi,  Looking on-line I get very mixed messages about what USB Bluetooth 
Dongle might work with any Linux flavour.  Mostly the messages are 
posted by disgruntled folk about dongles not working.  Has anyone any 
advice about a dongle that does work? I've never needed Bluetooth 
before, but we now have a Fitbit, which speaks only Bluetooth.  I would 
be most dischuffed if I had to resort to Windoze for this.  Many thanks
