Hi Andrew John,
I have a new opportunity for a Linux Desktop Engineer to join a leading Technology company in Cambridge on an initial 3 month contract (likely to go on for much longer).
The successful candidate will be responsible for building Linux desktop computers, Setting up machines on user's desks, deploying patches and updates, Improving and troubleshooting existing Linux build systems, Troubleshooting Linux desktop issues as well as general day to day PC support and repairs.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Excellent Linux - preferably Ubuntu or Centos.
- Knowledge of PXE
- Knowledge of automated configuration systems e.g. puppet or CfEngine
- Client TCP/IP
- Knowledge of Kerberos
It would also be nice if candidates have :
- Shell scripting
- MacOS X
- Virtualisation
- LDAP/NIS
- CUPS
- AD knowledge
