Mike,
I doubt that you will get much support for putting up posters in
computer shops. After all, they won't make any money out of it. On the
contrary, it might persuade some not to buy expensive Microsoft stuff!
I did ask my local W.H.Smith's if I could leave some flyers near the
Linux mags, but they wouldn't cooperate -- and they might have
benefited in selling more Linux mags.
Dave,
What is 'PVR (Tivo-like)'. I use my main PC (Athlon / SuSE v8.0) to play
CDs, listen to FM radio and TV while working.
I use Linux all the time (as now) with the following exceptions:
For scanning 35mm slides (no Linux driver available for my Minolta
scanner)
Software
development for others (ie under DOS / MS Windows)
Perhaps we should all look around to identify shows, exhibitions, etc
where we could put on a Linux demo or three. Some years ago, I was a
member of a 'Computer Club' and we did drum up quite a lot of support
via a couple demos at local shows.
