Desktop linux is the holy grail at the moment, but until a distro goes
the way of Apple and decides what to include and exclude, rather than
trying to cater for everyone/thing it's going to remain a long way
off... Why do we need five different window managers, three different
desktop environments, five browsers, three word processors etc... ?
One of the things really annoying me with Linux at the moment is bloat -
that's why I'm drawn to distros like Gentoo (save your breath Chris...).
I installed RedHat 8.0 on my gateway box, and even though I de-selected
_everything_ it still weighed in at ~500Mb. I'm sure I've had OpenBSD
running Apache, Samba and Jabber in < 200Mb...
