Couple of quick questions:
1) Have you considered running an internal mail server?
2) How do your desktops connect to the 'net?
On my home network, all traffic passes through my Linux-based ISDN
router. I've experimented with transparent proxying before whereby all
traffic on port 80 was redirected to my Squid proxy.
