If you are ATI

Be sure that you have |PCI:| prepended to the |BusID| string in
|/etc/X11/xorg.conf|. For example:

eg:

Section "Device"
       Identifier  "Device[0]"
       Driver      "fglrx"
       BusID       "PCI:1:0:0"
       Option      "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps"
