[cumbria_lug] Hi everyone, I'm new to the mailing list...

I've really no excuse, since I can walk there.  Mind you, my Linux these
days is getting very embedded (a Synology Box, a BE router, an Android
smartphone and, by then, a Xoom). Although, apparently the Xoom will run
Ubuntu (no, Dave, I'll not be letting you touch it!).

 

In the past few months, I downgraded my server from CentOS to Ubuntu and
then switched it off altogether as the Synology took over and more recently
downgraded my client side Linux for a Windows laptop and now that might go
if the Xoom does what I want.

First 'meeting' @ The Lodge, in Carlisle is on Sunday 24th April.  I'll open
the doors @ 7:30, just push the buzzer & I'll let u in - its a private club,
remember.  I'll be your host for the evening - doesn't that sound posh?
Basically I open the door & serve u drinks ;)  It'll be just us lot, unless
the custodian, Sie, pokes his head round the door.  I hope we get a goodly
number - it'll be nice 2 talk 2 someone about linux & their eyes not glaze
over! There's plenty of parking spaces, too, btw.

So do you attend the college yourself then? Or was it just a guest
appearance for one of their classes?
