I'm in Barrow too and I'd certainly be up for a Barrow/South Cumbria group 
were one to start.  Cumbria is a far from ideal unit for anything.

How is the Lancaster LUG getting along?  I haven't heard from them for ages 
but I don't know if I'm still subscribed or not.
