[Deaf-lug] ubuntu heron grub error 15

Liked ubuntu  that much that i decided to install on main computer (
got 3 computers)

Although i had no probs duel booting i wiped main hard drive to
install ubuntu only to get grub error 15.

Did a serch on google only to find that to down load windows software
to fix the MBR or summat like that.
fixed this issue when i was duel booting but now having the same prob
when i am not duel booting why cant i just install ubuntu on main 1
hard drive?

strange that, any ideas to what to do?
I have either spen the time reading on google which if i can get the
time or somone give me pointers to halve the time :-)
