[Deaf-lug] Web Cam on Ubuntu 8.10

Hi All

Wonder if anybody can help.

Since install Ubuntu 8.10 my webcam is not being detected properly.

In 8.04 the webcam worked perfectly without needing any configuration.  
So it is strange that it has stopped working in 8.10.

I have search the web and there has been a bug reported.

However I have not been able to find a workaround. The only workaround  
I have found is the one for skype, but I don't use skype!!!

Wondered if anybody else is having problems or can offer a possible  
solution.

Maybe I should just wait for an update?
