Ah, you might be wanting to edit /etc/fstab to add your new
partition.  Copy the line for your existing partition and change the
filesystem type and mount point, making sure the mount point exists.

Then in KDE you can right click on the desktop and choose create
new->harddisk and choose the right device.  Or just type device:/
into konqueror.

Hmm, Windaes does all this for you, beginning to see what you mean..
