The Paragon Ensemble (Contemporary Classical music group based in
Glasgow) are looking fro a Java programmer to do some work on an online
project they are running.

The project is an online interactive audio piece by one of their
composers generating 'music' from a doctored version of a
speech-synthesis voice.

The online part of the project is a Java applet which takes text entered
by the user sends it to a Festival speech-synthesis server running the
customised voice, and then manipulates the returned audio into a more
musical structure using the Jsyn Java audio library:

   Festival: http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/

   Java: http://www.softsynth.com/jsyn/

A skeletal version of the applet already exists but the previous
programmer on the project is unable to finish the work due to other
committments.

There is a fee of 1,000 GBP for the work. Paragon are aiming to have it
completed in November.

Anyone interested please contact me off-list:

   simon at lipparosa.org

If you know of anyone else who might be interested in the work please
forward this message to them.

best wishes
Si
