Hi,
   Just to update anyone that's interested regarding the cheap laptops  
I was trying to set up with Linux...

We managed to get hold of 5 Esys 320 's (low spec laptops for around  
£200 each). They came with Ubuntu Linux - it was meant to be  
pre-installed but wasn't, however it is up and almost up and running  
now - just need to figure out how to get linux to use the modem as it  
can't seem to find it atm.
