Okay,

Took Gordon's advice and thought righty ho, i'll get myself all MythTV'd and 
it's not going well.  It's times like this that i really do feel like a 
newbie, so hopefully we can get a newbie guide to configuring MythTV which 
i'm sure will have a proud home on the new site.

And i think i'll be emailing Gordon and asking for his advice too, but i 
should be happy when i finally get it sorted out
