I don't think that the minidiscs would be used as a temporary storage location, for example to transfer files between systems, as my main use for usb keys tends to be. So whereas it does seem a little outdated and pointless but as I said, we have a player/recorder and a lot of discs, the only other real option we're considering is ebay.
So yeah, we have little to do, why not back stuff onto minidisc :)
