I think that what linux/gnu and open source, it give
you choice..

if you don't like one thing, then use another.

there's no reason why the underlying operating system
won't run it.. it all modular these days..just slot
out 
one component, and slot in another.

obviously if your one windows, then WIN32 api's are
the way to go, and your kinda stuck with that...

you can however run gtk and qt on there too!

choice, its gotta be a good thing, 

anyway, I've heard there's been a crash on
the road today..somewhere in redmond? one microsoft
way perhaps.. I hear it's a dangerous road to
travel...
