I imagine Ubuntu already comes with the Intel drivers.

Although 2.2.0 was just recently released. Easily installed from git.

Define shrunk?. Resolution is reduced or display doesn't use all of the
screen?

Have you tried fiddling with xrandr?

At the very least we'd need to see your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
