Ygwy not just use an external drive chassis? I would never use lacie cheap drives and nice covers, plus tech support is rubbish, use seagate or western digital at least you know the drive will be good quality!

I had been buying Lacie's but I've had two die on me. I recently bought
a 3.5" 500GB Seagate (my prefered make) SATA drive and an enclosure
(with both eSATA and USB connections, the enclosure will take either
SATA or IDE). At least if the driver dies it's just the cost of another
drive.

Anyone got suggestions for an eSATA card, because this looks useful.
