I could even do a system to backup your original partitions to  (somewhere) before it nukes it and install linux...hahaha

I actually have an idea about old Linux Magazines and cover discs.  I
actually want to get a box and put it in the HMC (the art gallery
where the meeting place is) and put in all the old Linux Magazines,
Open Source Bumf, Cover Discs, No longer Needed distributions, and put
a big sign on it called "Re-Cycled Linux" or something like that, and
let anyone that ones to come and grab anything out of the box.  Sort
of the social rule is either put it back when your finished with it so
someone else gets the benefit, or put something into it that someone
else may find useful.  All though i say social rule, we'll not employ
Kris with a big stick to police it or anything

It always seemed to me that there was great wastage in cover discs
collecting dust in someones cupboard, for that "just in case" moment
and i thought that this maybe a good idea.  Then it got me thinking
about all the magazines that probably have great articles that someone
else would find interesting (I have to be honest my original plans
where for the Linux Society to have the box and it come out at
meetings).  However in the end i thought, that i could probably ask
the HMC to put the box or something at the front door, and then anyone
could use it.  Anyone that has dealt with people at uni wanting to
find out about Linux will know that being able to say, "hay if you pop
up there and rummage through the box you'll probably find a copy
of.......",  or "have you thought of trying open office, there should
be a copy of the open CD up in the "Recycled Linux Box" would be a
wicked resource.

My ultimate plan is to have a "Linux on Tap", network port with
network installs of loads of linux distro's.  You just turn up with
your laptop or whatever, plug in your cable and then boot up, next
thing you know your a linux convert and your mothers brother is called
Bob (or is it swifty?).  Some how i think that will be a little harder
for me to sell but we'll get there i'm sure, Timb0 has plans for a
freedom toaster one day as well, i'm sure if anyone is interested he'd
be happy to talk to you more about it.

I'm pretty sure that the HMC would go for the whole recycled linux,
i'm sure that us lot would find it helpful, and a permanent box for
people to discover the joys of the tux and his free software palls
maybe useful.

Added addition some space in the house cleared up for the missus, more
space in the CD draw too.  So if we're up for it, when i get back i'll
put the wheels in motion and if people start digging out there old
Linux CD's and magazines we shoudl be able to find a use for them.
