Thanks for this email Gordon.
I forwarded a copy of this email to the Semantic MediaWiki users
mailing list, because:
1) I know a lot of people there have ongoing projects that they would
like to promote.
2) SMW is an open source project aimed at bringing semantic web
technology 'to the masses'.
3) I think SMW is literally one of the most exciting projects on earth*.
I got a reply from someone called Jon who is using SMW technology to
develop a structured wiki for handling statistics related to
homelessness in Scotland. In his words, "It would save [the
organizations] so much cash and time in duplication [using] a
non-institutional collaborative information focal point for the whole
sector".

However, I'm not sure what to do with this reply! In true
collaborative fashion, I'm emailing the list back for help and ideas.
Is anyone interested in trying to contribute to the BBC documentary?
Is anyone interested in helping to develop this site into a more
useful resource (demonstrating the use of Semantic annotation)? What
do you think should be the next step?
I suggested to contact some of the SMW and SMW extension developers to
provide an overview of the application, but it would be great to get
additional involvement from anyone who is interested.
If you would like to learn more about SMW, you should see (at least):

All the best,
Dan.
P.S. Here is some more from Jon:
It's meant to be a neutral space for orgs in homelessness to share
stats and info on services.
Example:
Population Mid-2007 For Scotland 5,144,200
Population Mid-2008 For Scotland 5,168,500
Total Applicants on Housing Register 2007 For Scotland 193,009
Total Applicants on Housing Register 2008 For Scotland 202,235
Therefore - 3.75% Scotland on Housing Waiting Lists 2007
Therefore - 3.91% Scotland on Housing Waiting Lists 2008
I have had trouble, as just an interested individual, in the idea
being taken seriously.
