the avoidance of the command line wasnt the only thing that stood out to me
as something to take issue with... though, they did state however that this
was to see how well windows guys could settle with the new opperating
system, rather than a comparison of "which is better" esp. when used as it
was intended to be used.

one can only wonder just how many linux users aren't even scratching the
surface because they stubbornly insist on using it just like it's windows.


it can be a touchy subject though, the extent to which a user is expected to
adjust their usage methods and to what extent the software is suposed to
cater for those already settled to some well conditioned patterns of use.

stubbornness and "convenience" can often get in the way of learning and
progress, sad to say.
