Dundee Science Festival might be a good idea - NEoN as well (other than debate)

Arbroath Sea Fest ???
Discovery: International Film for Young Audiences

there is an interesting thread on the ubuntu-uk mailinglist just now.

discussing attending non-technical events to promote Linux and FLOSS.

I think this is something a few of us have discussed in the manner of having a more general public presence.

here is the ubuntu-uk discussion.

should we be attending more events ?
should we have a reasonably portable booth set-up ? (something we can get to events at short notice)

Is there a reason why were not going to more events geeky or otherwise ?

Good questions, we have got to go out to the public more, plus it could be a lot of fun (maybe a booth at "T in the Park" :-)). There are lots of events that are held in Tayside that we maybe could do something. A good topic of discussion for everyone but people have got to be willing to get involved for this type of thing to work.
