you would need an sms gateway type setup. like this
http://www.pioz.it/extra/smsd-command.html
(this would be overkill http://playsms.sourceforge.net/)

and execute scripts to control mpd.

eg. script to wrap http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Hack:mpdgrep
which plays the first song matching your text.

once you get a proper net connection. you could use pmix(or bitMPC) +
connectbot to get more control and playlist etc. i also think threempd will
stream the music to your phone.
