software releases are not revenue events, i.e. upgrade at no cost.

Open source works so well that Red Hat are no.22 in Bloomberg's Businessweek
Top 50 list

Here is a video of Jim Whitehurst talking about small business and cloud
computing to the VAR Guy. Why do people get caught up in this Desktop Linux
obsession? It is free you do want to charge anyone for this and it is to be
enjoyed by everyone. Open Source companies make their money by providing
cheaper, superior services and software to companies that require mission
critical software to ensure minimum downtime in their operations which could
result in large financial loss if downtime occurred. Another thing, the vast
majority of people in the Fedora Project that run their own servers
(including Red Hat employees) use CentOS, Scientific Linux or Debian ( some
are combined Fedora & Debian maintainers) because it is free and non-mission
critical. The reason why I mention the Fedora Project because it is the
"Father of Red Hat" (Paul Frield's words,Project leader of Fedora) and is
supposed to provide ideas and innovation which is then transferred into
stable packages for commercial use that is used by Red Hat . The success of
Red Hat is due to the success of the Fedora Project (The Fedora Project is
not a beta testing ground for Red Hat, it is the spawn of originality). I
will get off my soapbox now.
