Indeed, we've got native IPv6 working great here through AAISP. The only issue is our current routers (MikroTik RouterOS) don't fully support it and the beta versions which do almost support it are unstable.

There is a lack of decent, low-cost IPv6 capable routers for consumers. Current options appear to be a homebrew Linux router or expensive kit from Cisco and the likes.

RevK from AAISP is working on finding the perfect IPv6 capable consumer router and seems to finally be getting somewhere.

Meanwhile larger ISPs such as Virgin, BT, TalkTalk and O2/BE will most likely be very slow to roll out IPv6 given the amount of CPE that will need replaced (not to mention parts of their own network too).

O2/BE seem particularly far behind the others right now.

When I was doing my dissertation there was no one in Dundee with any
decent deployments. Actually the prevailing opinion of FaTMAN
(http://www.fatman.net.uk/) was that they could just convert to NAT
and be fine, I even had to put up with a couple of internal Abertay IT
guys criticising my honours project.

Anyway, I've ran IPv6 on my own server for about two to three years
now. I've ran tunnelling for a while and have had IPv6 internally on a
few networks. Just waiting for consumer gear and an ISP that supports
it natively really.

The RIRs run out sometime in September so you know even though I and
other IPv6 enthusiasts have been saying this for a while you really
need to do something soon.

A few ISPs in the UK are looking at IPv6 by far the best is AAISP.
