My younger brother's class used to have to submit (by post) BASIC programs 
written by hand on coding forms (sort of formalised graph-paper) and I used to 
sneak my own programs in with his (they were typed in by a pool of entry 
clerks)...waiting for a week to get a printout with either a bug-list or the 
output. Ah...my lunar lander program. 

Later worked on it using jolly old COBOL, Pascal and C. The joys of DATA 
DIVISION and MOVE 1 TO COUNTER (or summat).

I remember when this were all fields....
