A smart little storage server — designed for 24/7-operation in your living
room.
"When I came across the Backblaze storage
pod<http://blog.backblaze.com/2009/09/01/petabytes-on-a-budget-how-to-build-cheap-cloud-storage/>,
I was immediately intrigued by its clever, no-frills design. But who really
needs 67 terabytes (or even
135<http://blog.backblaze.com/2011/07/20/petabytes-on-a-budget-v2-0revealing-more-secrets/>)
at home?
I decided to scale their excellent design down for home use, and after a
long period of experimentation, the Evercube was born.
The design is open hardware<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-source_hardware>,

You will need Google Sketchup
<http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/download/>to view / modify the
design files — free Mac and Windows versions are
available. For your convenience, I am also offering all components needed
to build the Evercube as an easy to assemble Do-It-Yourself kit. "
Brilliant!
