No worries, yes we did have a talk about a surgical training tool developed
for the iPad by a team of surgeons and developers. That was last October I
think. We've got some awesome stuff in the works for the coming year too.

>From memory, our talks have been...

Dare to be digital demos
STAR technologies talking about their hardware and software being used in
space tech - this was an awesome talk!
Chris van der Kuyl talking about his vision of the tech community in Dundee
Andy Cobley did a talk on Cassandra performance/clustering on Raspberry Pi
Rod Burns did a talk on "The Internet of Things" - before it became a buzz
phrase ;P he also talked about Code Club and why teaching kids to code is
important
Jean Nehme talked about his vision for the application of technology in
education and how he's applying that by releasing Touch Surgery
Mike McQuaid gave a talk about the work he does on the Homebrew package
manager for OS X
Macro Micro Studio folks from DJCAD Architecture Masters gave a talk about
home automation
Bert McDowell gave a talk on his career in games from a working stiff to
founding his own studios and releasing games for iOS independently
Freeformers came up from London to talk a bit more about what it is they do
training people to code and Code Club (we do like encouraging Code Club -
we're actually working with some folks to get it started up in Dundee. Give
me a shout if anyone is interested in helping out with this, Enhanced
Disclosure is needed but will be paid for.)
Richard Higgs the Managing Director of brightsolid and entrepreneur gave a
talk on things he wishes he'd known before getting started in business as
well as a pre-announcement of the IDEA Scotland Center opening in Dundee
backed by brightsolid, DC Thomson and Abertay.

Then last month we mixed it up a little, it was more of an open forum
discussing what people were working on and what people were thinking about
the format, we took that feedback and came up with what we are trying this
month.

There is one talk but there will also be stands with people demoing their
work, hopefully it'll encourage more discussions and just all round more
things to see. Kenny (one of the organisers) will be demoing his plethora
of Windows devices - Surface RT, Surface Pro and Nokia Lumia 920. The talk
is by Grant Richmond who will be talking about his new project and has
promised an interactive presentation.

See you on Tuesday!
