Hey guys
Wondered if you could help me please?
Im in the process (this afternoon) of building a remote debian server
running xen server. Now I havent got huge resources available heres the
link to my machine http://www.kimsufi.co.uk/ its the 2G version, celeron
1.2ghz, 2gb ram 1TB hard drive etc. (ps if anyone orders anything from that
link or ovh in general, if you dont have a referrer code I would be super
grateful if you could use mine :) ga53712-ovh. Will help me earn loyalty
points hehe)
Anyway back to the reason for this email. Since this server is not very
powerful and I want to run a couple of linux vm's 1 x ipsec vpn, 1 x web,
1 x dns etc (I have extra ips available for this purpose) I was wondering
if any of you could provide any hints and tips for squeezing every little
last drop of perfomance out of this machine please?
I have never really done any system tweaking on linux for speed before,
except when I built my own kernel in gentoo on a local machine and kept it
as minimal as possible.
Anyway cheers for your help in advance guys. Sorry I never make the
Tuesday nights anymore. Angela goes to pilates and I have to look after her
daugther.
Anyone fancy a weekend LUG meeting sometime?
Cheers
Andy
