[Durham] Question about WPA Enterprise networking

Hi All,

I would like to ask a question, on behalf of a Lubuntu user, about
getting linux machines to work on a WPA Enterprise network. The user,
called Marc, is from Canada. He has persuaded his local school to try
Lubuntu on some old XP machines rather than throw them away. The
machines connect to the school's network via WPA Enterprise wi-fi, and
are general class room machines so they can be used by any student. Can
someone explain, in simple terms, how he would configure Lubuntu to
authenticate the machines themselves on the network rather than per user?

Marc has posted a number of questions on the Lubuntu mailing list but
without getting a definitive answer.

The rest of the school runs on Windows, as you would expect. The
school's IT manager is a Windows only person who knows nothing about
linux. In fact the IT manager is hostile to linux machines on his system
and views them as a security risk.
