Hello everyone.
I have confirmation for a go ahead to install the systems at Exwick Ark on Saturday 2nd November.
I anticipate this will take the whole day, and may well require a second visit to complete the initial install.
Once the base system is in, then we will revisit the project plan to discuss the Smart Boards, and any additions that might be sort after by the Ark Team.
I also anticipate a database requirements meeting with the team in the future too, as this was proposed in the initial project plan. I shall make arrangements with Harri and Paula to look at this after the systems installation has been completed.
The Plan for Saturday 2nd November
We will be meeting first at the Imperial for breakfast at 9am

You should find us in the Orangery, the large conservatory at the opposite end from the Entrance and Car park, just walk straight through the building.
I Expect we will be onsite at the Ark at 10.00am.
The main tasks.
Make a hardware inventory.
Identify most suitable machines, for Server and Terminals, test and configure.
Build the LTSP Server
Complete the network infrastructure, along with Switches
Test installation
System Documentation
Define next stage requirements
Organise what will happen with remaining hardware.
Please can you advise on list if you are planning to come, I will take a head count on Friday morning and advise Trevor.
Correspondance between Trevor and I below for your reference.
The breakfasts at the Imperial are excellent, and very cheap, i.e a large breakfast is £6.99
All the best
Rick

Rick,
Harri is happy.
There is a slight issue as the Ark main building is rented out for part of the day:
11.30-2.30 the main hall and little classroom are being used, however the staff rooms in the house are available. I still need to punchdown the last few network sockets in the conference room.
I have a chap coming to help me cut back some over grown bushes in the Parish Hall yard at 11.30-1. This was due to happen Monday morning, but there were "complication"
Therefore we could all kick off with breakfast, then down to the building to get things going. I'll pop over to the Parish Hall for 11.30 then we'll see how it is all going.
So it sound like yes we are OK to go ahead.
Questions
How many people do you think will come?
How long will you take?
What time is breakfast?
Some little things
I am hoping we can use network switches which don't have cooling fans if psosisble.
I have setup the network laser printer already.
We are keen to have the abilty to switch it all off if needs be.
I am not sure how much stuff you left us and I am not sure how much is still there as we have had to shift it around several times as the building work approached.
Rick also the Ark has a load of plastic trunking like one might see in a computer room left over. Quite a few metres in fact. Do you have any other projects on the go that would like it?
Trevor
