[Falkirk] Server distro

I recently updated my server to the latest Ubuntu (Karmic), but Its been
pretty unstable since the upgrade, so I've decided to move onto another
distro. Can anyone point me towards a good server distro?

I was looking at Debian, a) because Ubuntu is a derivative of it, so I
should be able to pick it up easily, and b) I've heard its pretty good in
general.

If anyone has any suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated.
