Hmm. That's a bit of a negative attitude to adopt if you want your own
opinions on the matter to be taken seriously, surely?

Absolutely -- I couldn't agree more.
Mike -- having broached the matter to us as a user group project, could
you lay out the current situation for us? I believe there was some
further discussion at the Who'd-A-Thought-It after the meeting last
Wednesday?

 - but by a select few!!

What on earth makes you say that? What are your criteria for
'selecting' the 'few'?

And are you proposing that the same criteria be applied to both parties?

(It's no secret that the Diane Themistocleos / Martin Wheeler
combination has proved explosive in the past -- after all, she was the
direct instrument involved in having me removed from the College. Are
you saying that the College is now knowingly using her as the sole
go-between to liaise with a local organisation in which I'm known to be
one of the major players?
If so, that's actually no problem for me (I can cope with personality
clashes); but how does the College see it? How does Diane see it?
Mike -- comment?)

I'm mightily glad to hear it.

Personally, I can be as diplomatic as the next. (And have actually
worked for the diplomatic service in the past, in three languages.)
Are we dealing with diplomacy from the college? Or are we dealing with
just Diane here? (Mike?)

Yes. As I remember, their best work is produced on Macs, not PCs.
And Debian runs very nicely on Macs, of course. :)

Who are we dealing with from Bournemouth? (I believe Rob Ashman was
mentioned.) Have we been asked for Beowulf ideas/expertise? (Three of
us in the group have done more than just dip our toe in the water.)

Great. Anything anywhere we could view?
Should we set up a LUGoG gallery on the website to display our wares?
(Or would you like temporary space on the startext server? I think I've
got a demo gallery somewhere.)

Please.
I know Sean has quite a few ideas on the go at the moment; Tim, like
you, is Xmasing like crazy, so probably won't have time until after the
25th.

Cheers,
