[Glastonbury] Mysql

I am having trouble with accessing Mysql on my Mandrake Linux box i cant
do queries as i do not have permission if i open Mysqlcc as root i still
get denied access. can any one help me .
There was a bit in the back of the Linux Format of reseting the password
but i tried that and it did not recognise the Set command .
Any help would be appreciated 

Next meeting will we be looking at how to setup of mysql , Apache and
PHP to work together ?
