It's a matter of convenience and personal preference. Both ways of doing
this work equally well.

Thinking about it: if you install lilo on both drives - if at any stage 
you need to take a drive out and put it in another machine as the only 
disk, then you only need edit /etc/fstab and /etc/lilo.conf, rerun lilo 
and you're away.
